Aol Live Chat with Milo before the Gilmore Girls season 3 Premiere.
AOLiveMC13: Welcome to AOL Live, Milo Ventimiglia!
Milo Ventimiglia: Hello!
AOLiveMC13: Milo, you have lots of excited fans here tonight.
Milo Ventimiglia: OK.
AOLiveMC13: Ready to answer their questions?
Milo Ventimiglia: Yes!
AOLiveMC13: Here's our first question:
Question: Hey, I just wanted to say that I think you're a very
talented actor, and you certainly have the looks to back it up. ;) My
question is if you enjoy playing the roll of a rebel, or does it seem
like a regular day that you just have to remember lines for?
Milo Ventimiglia: Are you asking if I am as rebellious as Jesse? Not
really. I am a bit older than him and hopefully a bit wiser.
Question: Milo, what movies are you going to do, if any? Because I
know me and my friends would totally go see them -- we love you!!!
Milo Ventimiglia: The films I have done in the past haven't come out
yet and probably won't come out. And I don't really know what I will
be doing next summer during our break.
Question: How long are you going to be on `Gilmore Girls'?
STAY FOREVER! LOL.
Milo Ventimiglia: I can't promise forever, but I can promise the
rest of this year. After that, I do not know.
Question: I love your name, and I was wondering how you felt about
Milo Ventimiglia: I enjoy my name! My parents got it out of a book,
and it is pretty unusual for someone my age to have that name. I have
seen older gentlemen and babies with that name, but no one my age.
Question: Who do you personally want Rory to end up with this
Milo Ventimiglia: Ummmm... gosh, I really don't have a preference. I
see the benefits of her being with either Jesse or Dean.
Question: How did you start acting?
Milo Ventimiglia: I got an agent when I was 18, started auditioning,
then I started to book jobs and worked my way up.
Question: What is your biggest fear?
Milo Ventimiglia: Ummmm... gosh... ummmmm... people I care about
Question: What can you tell us about tonight's season premiere?
Milo Ventimiglia: And AOL chats! Nothing you can't see in about a
half hour for the East Coast and three hours for the West Coast. If
you can wait that long!
Question: When you work on the show, what is it like being the bad
boy of the show? Also, does Jess relate to you in real life?
Milo Ventimiglia: I guess being the rebel, everybody hates you.
Wait, I am just kidding! It is no different than being the nice guy
on the show. And yes, there is a little Jess in Milo. Well, maybe a
Question: How did you get started, Milo? Do you have any advice for
newcomers like myself?
Milo Ventimiglia: You picked a heck of a business to go into. Just
stay true to who you are as a person. Don't change yourself.
Question: What is Jesse's real feelings for Rory, and why doesn't he
just go for her?
Milo Ventimiglia: I can't really answer that. I mean, one can infer
that Jesse really likes Rory, but ultimately it is not my decision.
It is the writers'.
Question: I think you're a really awesome actor, and I was
wondering if you were really into the types of things your character on the
show is into, like books, music (but the type Jess is into, like the
Clash), and if you have any of the same characteristics.
Milo Ventimiglia: Yes. Definitely into the music he listens to, and
I have definitely read some of the books he has read.
Question: Did you watch `Gilmore Girls' before coming on the
Milo Ventimiglia: No, I did not. My mom was a big fan, but I had
never seen it.
Question: I love the commercials for The WB with all the other
stars. Did you have fun making them and hanging out with them?
Milo Ventimiglia: Yes, I had fun making the commercial. But we did
not shoot them all at the same time, so I never did get to see any of
the other actors.
Question: Do you get noticed in public a lot, and if so, what's the
weirdest encounter you ever had with a fan?
Milo Ventimiglia: I get noticed occasionally. Usually people will
say, you look like that guy on 'Gilmore Girls' and do you get told
that often? I guess the strangest encounter I had was when a fan told
me she hated me. I don't think she meant me, but I think she was
referring to the character.
Question: Do you always want to be an actor, or would you like to
become something else?
Milo Ventimiglia: I think I will always be an actor, but it would be
nice to branch out into different parts of the industry.
Question: Hey, Milo, I was just wondering if you will be making any
TV appearances to help promote the show. We'd love to see you
on `Letterman,' `Regis & Kelly,' or even The WB 11
news in New York. Thanks!!
Milo Ventimiglia: It would be nice to be on those shows, but
unfortunately I am not Tom Cruise or Brad Pitt or even Lauren Graham.
Question: Milo -- how's it going?? How has filming been going for
you so far?? Do you have to work really long hours?? How does it feel
to be part of the cast for a second season?? Thanks for all of your
hard work, we really appreciate it! God bless.
Milo Ventimiglia: Going well! It has been good. My character hasn't
had much involvement in the first couple of episodes. We are at
number six, and it has been a lot more work. Yes, I have to work long
hours. Twelve-hour days are a really short day.
Question: Is Alexis like her character on `Gilmore Girls'?
Milo Ventimiglia: In some ways, yes. She is really intelligent --
terribly intelligent, in fact. But I think Alexis is a bit more of a
goof-off than Rory is. A bit more relaxed and easier to have fun with.
Question: How close are you and Alexis off the show?
Milo Ventimiglia: We're pals.
Question: Will the writers on the show reveal more about the
character you play on the show?
Milo Ventimiglia: Probably toward the middle to the end of the
Question: First of all, I love the show and was wondering, what's
your favorite thing about being a part of the 'Gilmore Girls' cast?
Milo Ventimiglia: Thank you very much. I would say the people I work
Question: Do you have a favorite actor or actress?
Milo Ventimiglia: I definitely have actors that I look up to -- Sean
Penn, Ed Norton, Philip Seymour Hoffman -- so many actors, I don't
think I could list them all!
Question: How has your life changed since you became a star?
Milo Ventimiglia: Not much. Not much at all. Bought a house this
year. But other than that, same friends, same family.
Question: I heard Jess gets a girlfriend (that isn't Rory) this
season. Is that true? Or are you not supposed to say?
Milo Ventimiglia: Yes, it is true.
Question: Hey, Milo!! We've been waiting ALL summer for tonight. We
are even having a `Gilmore Girls' party!! We are SO happy
that you are a part of the show. Would you like to stay on the show for more
seasons?? We'd love for you to stick around!! :)
Milo Ventimiglia: I would, as long as `Gilmore Girls' will
have me. But I will say I definitely have one more year.
Question: What show would you like to guest star on?
Milo Ventimiglia: `Sopranos.'
Question: What's up, Milo? Did you ever know that your character
would be so popular with the viewers? I really look forward to
what's in store for your character and Rory. Can you give us any info? I
hope we're in for something good with those two!
Milo Ventimiglia: It is a pleasant surprise that people actually
like him. Inside information, I really don't have any.
Question: What do you like to do when you are not working?
Milo Ventimiglia: Gosh, I don't even know what I like to do anymore!
I would say work on my house or skateboard, spend time with my family
and friends. Buffing my car.
Question: What's up, Milo? Alexis' movie "Tuck Everlasting" is
going to be released soon. Have you gotten a chance to see it yet, and will
you be going to support her at the premiere when it comes up??
Milo Ventimiglia: No, I have not seen it yet. Definitely will see
it. And yes, if I get the chance, I will definitely support her.
Question: Hi, Milo. I'm looking forward to tonight's episode! In
your last chat, you said that you think Sean Gunn is one of the
funniest guys on set. Do we have any good Kirk scenes to look forward
to? Aside from Jess, he is my favorite male character! LOL.
Milo Ventimiglia: If memory serves me correctly, yes. Matter of
fact, in the first episode there is a pretty funny Kirk moment!
Question: What is your favorite book?
Milo Ventimiglia: Oh man, ummmm... that is hard. Really, really
hard! I don't think I have one I can say I like more than the other,
that to even mention five wouldn't do justice to the ones I have.
AOLiveMC13: Milo, we have run out of time. This has been great
chatting with you here. Any closing remarks for your fans?
Milo Ventimiglia: Thank you for having me!
AOLiveMC13: And our thanks to you for being with us. Thanks to all
of Milo's friends who joined us here and sent in their questions.
Good night, everyone!.
